Communicator at the Southern Rescue Service
Do you want to use your communication skills for something that makes a real difference every day? At the Southern Rescue Service, you will contribute to preventing accidents and ensuring that vital information reaches the right audiences quickly and clearly.
You will be part of a small but dedicated communication team where we support each other, share ideas, and develop together. Here, you will combine creative and operational communication work with strategic initiatives.
We offer a flexible working approach with the possibility of some remote work based on the needs of the organization, as well as good opportunities to grow and develop to meet new challenges in a conscious and qualitative way.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a communicator with us, you will have a meaningful assignment and a central role in both internal and external communication, giving you a varied field of work.
Internally, we aim to support the organization and contribute to understanding, learning, and participation - to achieve common goals and promote an inclusive work climate. Externally, we have an important mission to raise awareness of risks, how accidents can be prevented, and how to act if something happens. The communication should also build trust in us as a rescue service and employer.
We collaborate with other actors to create safety during societal disturbances and crises, as well as in the event of heightened preparedness.
This is what you will work on a lot:
- Create and publish content on the intranet, website, and social media.
- Produce informational materials for various channels and contexts based on the association's visual identity. For example, advertisements, posters, brochures, videos, and presentations.
- Coordinate digital campaigns and support the organization during various events and informational activities.
- Keep our channels updated and ensure that the information is current, correct, and accessible.
- Follow up on the effects of various communication initiatives to make communication even more targeted.
- In addition, you will have the opportunity to be a communicative support in development projects, work with communication planning for various assignments, and help managers and colleagues succeed in their communication challenges.
You will be a point of contact for the media and support spokespersons in the organization when important issues need to be explained or highlighted.
You will be involved in crisis communication and trust-building communication, where your ability to act quickly, clearly, and calmly can make a significant difference.
Questions and assignments are handled collectively within the team and distributed based on competence and workload. We take responsibility for driving our respective tasks but work closely together to create consensus and achieve the best results.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in communication and media or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant. You have experience in qualified communication work and are confident in independently producing target-group adapted content, coordinating communication efforts, and advising on communication issues.
You have worked with digital platforms, preferably Umbraco and SharePoint. You also have basic knowledge of Adobe programs and can use these tools to create and process materials in photography, design, and video communication. To succeed in the role, you need to have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have worked in public operations and are used to creating understandable and accessible communication even when the issues are complex. Experience in crisis communication is also a plus.
As a person, you are self-driven, take initiative, and drive your tasks from start to finish while collaborating with colleagues and external parties. You are flexible and can easily adapt when conditions change rapidly, whether it concerns urgent information needs, changing priorities, or new needs from the organization.
In your interactions with others, you are attentive, clear, and strategic; you see the big picture, prioritize wisely, and connect communication efforts to the organization's overall goals. You are also creative and enjoy finding smart, pedagogical ways to enhance engagement and understanding.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Since travel between our stations is required, you need to have a B driver's license.
In this recruitment, we are working with ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!
